MORGAN HILL, CA-Internet company MainStreet Networks has moved its corporate headquarters here from San Jose, about 20 miles to the north. The firm, which produces gateway services for the World Wide Web, is now leasing in 54,000 sf that includes a multimedia demonstration center, recreation room and employee cafe. The company did not release rent figures.

MainStreet, which has about 160 employees, cited economic reasons for the move, saying rent is cheaper in the area south of San Jose. They aren’t the only company who has decided this – developer Legacy Partners, among others, is making inroads into the red-hot market south of San Jose.
