WALTHAM, MA-Lycos Inc., in need of expansion space for its headquarters operations, has signed a lease for 103,000 sf of office space at 100 Fifth Ave., within earshot of its existing headquarters operations at 400-2 Totten Pond Rd. The 100 Fifth Ave. property is a seven-story, 150,000-sf office building housed in the Prospect Hill Office Park.

“This property is adjacent to Lycos’ existing headquarters,” says Drew Nelson, director of the Boston office of Insignia/ESG. “It affords them the benefits of a large-scale expansion with minimal disruption.”

Lycos is a leading Internet services media company and owns the Lycos Network, one of the most highly trafficked hubs on the Internet.

Nelson and Michael Ripp, managing director of the Insignia/ESG Boston office, dealt for Lycos in the transaction. Meredith & Grew represented the building owner, T.A. Associates.
