SAN MATEO, CA-The online title services company BridgeSpan opened its San Mateo office recently, and already is processing some 250 commercial and residential escrow orders. BridgeSpan’s new San Mateo branch office mirrors that of the company’s older Menlo Park office, which recently opened and within days initiated transactions on more than 50 properties.

BridgeSpan Inc. CEO Mark Evans tells GlobeSt.com the response to its San Mateo and Saratoga offices make it abundantly clear that BridgeSpan is providing the industry with what he believes it has been lacking–innovative title and closing services that utilize a Web-based technology platform.

“We believe that our commercial title and closing services, which combine Web-based closing platform and our in-market specialists, will enhance the broker’s role and allow them to become more productive and profitable,” says Evans. “By adding value to the transaction and actually handling all aspects of the closing, we’re confident we’ll be able to continuing growing our commercial business no matter what the market conditions are.”

BridgeSpan’s new San Mateo branch is led by Shari Neel, who most recently worked for Old Republic Title, where she served as branch manager and lead escrow officer. Like the other locations, the San Mateo branch offers a customer service department to assist real estate and mortgage professionals with their marketing and business development needs, as well as with property information. Evans says the company has brought on about a half dozen people in San Mateo office.

“BridgeSpan’s competition is from traditional title, escrow and closing firms,” says Evans. “(We) plan to compete with them by providing superior service, a Web-based closing platform and local in-market BridgeSpan employees working with brokers to help them close more transactions smoothly.”

Since opening, the San Mateo office’s commercial and special projects department has opened 130 orders throughout the Western United States while the Residential Department has opened more than 120 orders. BridgeSpan’s new San Mateo office is located at 1300 South El Camino Real, Suite 305.
