SEATTLE-This week marks the last for people to register to receive earthquake assistance for damages suffered during the Feb. 28 Nisqually earthquake.

To date, people and businesses affected by the earthquake have received $109.8 million in loans and grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration.

The deadline for registration, which already has been extended twice, is set for Saturday, and officials are urging residents in the 22 affected Washington counties to take another look through their property to check for damage.

Businesses, homeowners and renters with earthquake damage are all eligible for aid. To register for federal aid, call the FEMA toll-free hotline at 1-800-462-9029.

The earthquake, centered near Olympia, injured more than 400 people on Feb. 28. But no deaths, were reported. The quake registered 6.8 on the Richter scale.

Residents living in Benton, Chelan, Clallam, Clark, Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Island, Jefferson, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Pierce, Skagit, Skamania, Snohomish, Thurston, Whatcom, Wahkiakum and Yakima are eligible for federal funds.
