BOSTON-A.P. Levin Co. has pulled its complex of office and retail properties, located in the Downtown Crossing shopping district, off the market. The 325,000-sf portfolio comprises eight buildings between Tremont and Lower Washington streets.

Daniel Levin, a principal in the family-owned real estate company, confirms for GlobeSt.com that the properties have been pulled but declines to specify why the decision was made. “We’re not interested in selling it anymore,” he says. “We did want to sell it and now we don’t want to sell it.” The Levin family also operates the Dream Machine Arcade chain.

While the market here is showing signs of starting to slow down, reportedly, Levin has insisted that that is not why the properties were taken off the market. The buildings were first put up for sale last summer, at the height of the real estate market here, making it surprising that a buyer was not found then.

Dowentown Crossing has been undergoing revitalization recently. Lafayette Place Mall has been successfully converted into an office/retail building and construction of the $400 million Millennium Place mixed-use complex is nearly finished. A luxury hotel is also going up on 90 Tremont St., right near from the Levin buildings.
