Hollywood Facility Undergoes $3 Mil Facelift

LOS ANGELES-A $3 million renovation has begun on a five-story Hollywood office building that stands at 6565 Sunset Blvd. It is part of a plan to attract new tenants to the 79,000-sf property, according to the facility’s owner, Paramount Contractors and Developers.

Paramount plans to revamp both the building’s architectural and technological facets, as part of a makeover designed by Joey N. Shimoda, principal of LA-based Shimoda Design Group. The renovation, which is slated for completion in September, will include replacing the aluminum and glass facade, which faces southward, with a Viracon blue reflective glass curtain wall.

In addition, a new lobby will be constructed of frameless structural glass. The new lobby will be twice the size of the original, which was built in 1965. The building’s technological systems will also be updated, including plumbing, electrical, security and real time demand energy metering systems.

Although the building is currently 100% occupied, Paramount hopes the renovation will attract new tenants. It is part of Paramount’s efforts to attract both larger long-term tenants and smaller short-term tenants to the facility, according to Paramount’s principal Brian Folb.
