208,000-SF Building Underway for Jel Sert

WEST CHICAGO, IL-Construction is underway on a 208,000-sf warehouse and office building on 9.16 acres at Charles Ct. and Helena Dr. in this suburb in the East-West Corridor. Jel Sert Co. will move in late this year, relocating from Route 59 and Conde St. here.

Privately-held Jel Sert created a gelatin dessert mix in 1926 and has since expanded its product line to include Wyler’s and Flavor-Aid drink mixes, Fla-Vor-Ice, Otter Pops and Pop Ice Freezer Pops, Mondo Fruit Squeezers fruit drinks and Royal puddings and gelatins.

Construction is being performed by Itasca, IL-based FCL Builders, Inc. Senior project manager Carie Carney and project manager Larry Gamm will supervise construction of the building that will include 28 truck docks and 30-feet clear height. Jack D. Pickett & Associates is the architect and Marziani Enterprises is the construction manager.

Meanwhile, Palatine, IL-based Kajima Construction Services, Inc. completed an 18,400-sf interior build-out for lighting and electrical retail products supplier Evergreen Oak Electric at 2019 Corporate Lane in nearby Naperville.
