RENTON, WA-The Boeing Co. is moving about 1,000 engineering in the Renton area to its BOMARC Building in Everett. The company says the Renton space will be backfilled with workers displaced in February as a result of a 6.8-magnitude earthquake.

Two weeks ago, Boeing announced that it is sending 700 Machinists to the Everett facility, and earlier this week the company reportedly told workers it will transfer 80 engineering jobs tied to 757 fuselage work to its plant in Wichita.

The February earthquake damaged Boeing’s so-called 10-50 and 10-85 buildings. Workers from those buildings will reportedly occupy the offices vacated by the engineers.
