ORLANDO-Universal Orlando moved quickly to remove scenes from an animated video that depicted the destruction of lower Manhattan by comic-book villains.

The removed scenes didn’t pinpoint the annihilation of the twin World Trade Towers and other buildings in the Sept. 11 terrorist air attack.

“Someone remembered the scenes and it was done almost immediately,” Universal’s corporate relations director James Canfield told the Orlando Sentinel today.

The video is shown to guests waiting to enter the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride at the park’s Islands of Adventure attraction.

The video ends by showing a comic superhero character defeating the Sinister Syndicate’s plans to steal the Statue of Liberty.
