A company operated by a prominent individual investor has paid an estimated $24.2 million for another local office building.

Dr. David Lee, who already controls an estimated $300 million worth of local real estate, acquired the 12-story Wilshire Serrano Building at 3699 Wilshire Blvd. It is almost fully leased. It has about 308,000 sf.

Lee already owns about two dozen office buildings, most of them in the same mid-Wilshire area. The property was purchased by Lee’s Jamison Properties.

Lee, who still practices medicine in the San Fernando Valley, has developed a reputation as a savvy buyer. His company was represented in the latest transaction by Randal Lee of Lilly Enterprises. The seller, the Operating Engineers Pension Fund, was represented by Ron Buss of Buss Shelger Associates.
