MT. LAUREL, NJ-The New Jersey region of Brandywine Realty Trust recently signed lease transactions totaling approximately 200,000 sf, according to company senior vice president George Sowa. The firm is based in Newtown Square, PA, and besides its office in Mt. Laurel, NJ, has additional regional offices in King of Prussia, PA and Richmond, VA.

Brandywine currently owns and manages 21 million sf of office and industrial space, of which about 5.5 million sf is in New Jersey. Altogether, the recent leasing activity represents just under 4% of the firm’s space in the Garden State. “We’re experiencing continued steady activity throughout our portfolio,” according to Sowa.

In the largest of the recent leases, Automotive Rentals, Inc. signed on for 67,000 sf of headquarters space at 9000 Midlantic Drive at Laurel Corporate Center, Mt. Laurel. ARI occupies all of the three-story asset. ARI also renewed its 23,000-sf lease at 1000 Midlantic Drive. Kathleen Sweeney was Brandywine’s in-house leasing rep for both transactions.

Sweeney was also responsible for several other leases, including Lockheed Martin’s renewal for just under 35,000 sf at 701 East Gate Drive, Mount Laurel (Insignia/ESG repped the tenant); Paetec Communications’ renewal and expansion to nearly 20,500 sf at Plaza 1000 @ Main Street, Voorhees, NJ; and Atlantic Medical Imaging’s new lease at 303 Fellowship Rd. in Mt. Laurel.

In other transactions, Prudential renewed at 1009 Lenox Drive in Lawrenceville (CB Richard Ellis repped Prudential, while Howard Ziff was Brandywine’s in-house rep); Chase Manhattan Mortgage Group renewed at Atrium 1 in Mt. Laurel, with Brandywine’s Bryant Hill serving as in-house rep); and Circuit City Stores signed a lease at Greentree Commons, Marlton, NJ, with Hill again serving as the in-house rep.

Also, the law firm of Parker McCay & Criscuolo has taken an undisclosed amount of space at 1009 Lenox Drive, Lawrenceville; Vineland Dermatology renewed at Plaza 1000 @ Main Street in Voorhees; Eastern Rehabilitation Associates signed a new lease at Two Eves Drive, Marlton; Bioway America Inc., renewed at Greentree Commons, Marlton; and Majestic Consulting, Rehab Network, Interior Exterior Design and Garden State Behavioral Health Service South all renewed at Greentree Executive Campus in Marlton.

Finally, Jersey Health Examiners signed on at 50 E. State St., a seven-story building in Trenton; Federated Investors Trust signed a lease at 6 E. Clementon Rd., Gibbsboro, NJ; Cybermate Infotek Ltd. is a new tenant at Greentree Executive Campus, Marlton; and Dughi & Hewitt signed on at 10 Lake Center Park in Marlton; among others.
