CHICAGO-Four industrial properties, totaling about 173,000 sf near Downtown Chicago, have changed hands in deals arranged by the newly renamed Camins Tomasz Kritt. The company was formerly known as Kritt Commercial & Industrial Real Estate, and specializes in industrial real estate transactions.

Costa Construction bought an 80,000-sf building at 2520 Western Ave. in the neighborhood of Pilsen, southwest of the Loop, which it plans to rehab and lease as industrial loft spaces. Also southwest of Downtown, the Chinese Christian Union has purchased a 25,000-sf building at 2263 S. Wentworth in Chinatown from the Chinese Trading Co. The building is separated from the existing church by a city street that will probably be vacated, allowing the church to expand.

On the Near South Side, the Lyonhart Group, a residential development company, has purchased a 38,300-sf building at 2000 S. Michigan Ave. known as the “Locomobile Building.” The building, which was a showroom for any early brand of auto–Locomobiles–was built in 1909 and is a landmark. Lyonhart will convert it into residences. Nearby, at 2241 S. Wabash, Snow & Associates has bought a 30,000-sf building for its own use as a graphics art studio on the first floor, with the second and third floors for lease as office space.
