PORT HURON TOWNSHIP, MI-The state has awarded an environmental cleanup grant for $502,000 to Victor Fiber and Supply Inc., based here. The company bought the former Anchor Recycling property on Goulden Street and plans to invest $1.57 million in a cleanup and expansion project.

The expansion of the former paper recycling plant will lead to the construction of two new buildings, as well as new equipment and jobs, company officials say.The money comes from a site reclamation grant from the Michigan Departmentof Environmental Quality.

“The grant will help alleviate the environmental problems at the factory site, and help Victor create new jobs for the area,” says State Senate Majority Leader Dan DeGrow, a Port Huron Republican.
