DALLAS-JPI turns construction crews loose on its newest high-end multifamily project, the 302-unit Jefferson at Texas Street in Dallas’ Bryan Place neighborhood. The Dallas-based developer has marked delivery for February 2003.

The project is situated just northeast of the CBD, where a revitalization plan is being pushed due to rising demand for in-town living. More retail, say the promoters, is a must to keep pace with residential projects and deliver a broad spectrum of offerings to attract the young professionals and the empty-nester Baby Boom affluent to the live, work, play in-city lifestyle.

Today’s “boutique” buzzword has a place in the project, with the plans containing a hotel-like clubhouse with a porte cochere drive. The four-story design by Kaufman Meeks + Partners, with offices in Newport Beach, CA, Houston and Barcelona, will neighbor JPI’s two-year-old Jefferson at Bryan Place. Texas Street units will range in size from 620 sf to 1,373 sf, with skyline views an integral part of the positioning of the complex’s amenities. Common areas include a theater, business center, game room, special events room with kitchen and exercise center.

The Jefferson at Texas Street is part of a building spree now under way in 20 states. In the past year, ground has broken on more than 7,000 apartment homes for the JPI portfolio.
