SOUTHFIELD, MI-The city has put out a request for proposals from interested buyers or lessors in the Southfield Centre for the Arts. The property consists of an area of 9.91 acres on Southfield Road, between Mt. Vernon and 10 Mile Road in the city.

The building consists of 44,344 sf, and has three basic sections: the 850-seat auditorium, 15,000-sf sanctuary, a 16,000-sf social hall and about 13,000-sf of classroom and administration spaces. A basement houses the building’s mechanical equipment and storage.

The property is zoned R-3, single-family residential.

The city will also consider a proposal for a “public-private” or “public-public” joint use and or operation of the property.

The bid deposit of $75,000 must accompany all proposals submitted. The minimum bid for the property has been established by the city at $3.15 million.

Southfield will accept proposals until 3 p.m. July 22.
