BALTIMORE, MD-Plans for the $4.7-million mixed-use development that will emerge from the century-old Northern District Police Station move forward with the Office of the Mayor and the Baltimore City Council’s approval of the property disposition to the project’s development team. Developer 1899 Limited Liability–a joint venture between Keyser Development Corporation and W.L. Blair Development–plans to transform the historic structure into 25,000 sf of retail and office space.

For $225,000, 1899 will acquire the one-acre plot of land at 3355 Keswick Road, which has a current assessed value of $232,400. The Victorian-era building sitting on that parcel has an assessed value of $1.25 million. “The plan for the Northern District Police Station complements the Hampden/Wyman Park neighborhood, preserves a significant Baltimore structure and provides a viable reuse that will create jobs for the community,” Baltimore Development Corporation president M. J. Brodie says of the project. Reconstruction is scheduled to begin by year’s end.
