BALTIMORE, MD-Outlet center REIT Prime Retail Inc. has accepted the resignation of Board of Directors member Robert H. Kanner less than seven months after his appointment to the position in a special election. Prime Retail’s Steven A. Sless tells GlobeSt.com that “there is no expiration for board members voted in by shareholders.” He adds that shareholders can elect a new member but plans to do so have not been made as of yet.

“Prime Retail was fortunate to have Bob Kanner as a director and is appreciative of his efforts as a member of the Board during his tenure,” company chairman and CEO Glenn D. Reschke says in a prepared statement. Kanner, who is president of Cleveland, OH-based computer printer supplies manufacturer Pubco Corporation, informed Prime Retail officials that his departure is in no way associated with the company or its management. As of August 2001, Kanner owned nearly 4.4% of Prime Retail’s Series A preferred stock.
