ELMSFORD, NY-Despite turbulent economic conditions in the region, Mack-Cali Realty Corp. reports that it secured 312,360 sf of leasing transactions at its commercial properties in New York and Connecticut in the second quarter of 2002.

The activity in the second quarter was 7.8% higher than last year’s leasing figures for the same period, which totaled 289,757 sf, according to Mack-Cali officials.

The firm reported several large new lease transactions including Publisher’s Circulation Fulfillment Inc., which signed a deal for 18,400 sf of space for a nine-year term at Mack-Cali’s 300 Executive Blvd. building in Elmsford, NY The building, part of the firm’s 600,000 sf Cross Westchester Executive Park complex, is 100% leased. Ivan Abry, Mack-Cali’s in-house leasing director, represented the firm in the deal.

The other major new lease deal in the second quarter was negotiated with the Dannon Company, which signed a lease deal for 15,000 sf of space at Mack-Cali’s 200 White Plains Road property in Tarrytown, N.Y. Dannon Co., a producer of yogurt products and a subsidiary of The Dannon Group, was represented by Robert Miller and Stewart Snow of Prudential Connecticut Commercial Real Estate LLC. Carol McGuire of Mack-Cali represented the landlord. With the deal, the 89,000-sf, 200 White Plains Road property is 88.5% leased.

Mack-Cali also reports that Vie de France Yamazaki Inc., the US subsidiary of Yamazaki Baking Company of Tokyo, renewed its lease of 24,678 sf for five years at 525 Executive Blvd. in Elmsford. The 61,700-sf flex building is now 100% leased. Jeffrey M. Warner, in-house senior leasing director, represented Mack-Cali in the transaction.
