Tennessee Developer Joins National Health Realty Board

ATLANTA-Joseph Swanson, owner of numerous businesses in the Southeast and Southwest and a 30-year investor and developer of real estate in Tennessee and Florida, joins the board of the Murfreesboro, TN-based REIT that specializes in long-term health care facilities.

ATLANTA-Murfreesboro, TN-based National Health Realty names Joseph Swanson to its board of directors. Swanson is the owner/manager and builder of more than 80 commercial properties totaling three million sf of rental space to 200 tenants in the middle Tennessee area.

Swanson also owns numerous businesses in Tennessee, Florida, Arkansas, New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. He has been an active investor and developer of real estate in Tennessee and Florida for the past 30 years.

NHR owns the real property of 19 skilled nursing facilities, six assisted living centers, and one retirement center.

It also owns first and second mortgage notes totaling $77.6 million, secured by skilled nursing facilities and other health care properties, the company says in a prepared statement.
