DETROIT-Multifamily unit complexes, subdivisions and commercial developments are awaiting approval for permits by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. In Leoni Township, developers are hoping to fill in wetlands to construct an access road for a proposed 89-unit Sanctuary of Brills Lake Site condominium complex.

Meanwhile, Hidden Lakes subdivision is waiting on approval from the MDEQ for a permit to fill in wetlands for a roadway and the project itself, as well as possible commercial buildings, on the 5.6-acre property in Bedford Township.

Additionally, Bella Vista Development is asking to fill in wetlands near Elizabeth Lake for a condominium project in Northville Township.

Also, the city of Parchment, MI is hoping for a grant from the MDEQ of $100,000 to fund demolition at the former Crown Vantage property located at the corner of Riverview Street and Commerce Lane. Paper mill operations resulted in contamination. A mixed-use commercial development will be built at the site, city officials say.
