CHICAGO-The National Council of State Boards of Nursing found larger space on one floor at 111 E. Wacker Dr., making a move across the Chicago River from 676 N. St. Clair. The council is leasing 24,163 sf in the building owned by Lincoln Property Co., Inc.

While the council moves from the Northwestern Memorial Hospital area to the East Loop, the Central and West Loop submarkets have not been inactive, albeit with deals for smaller spaces. For instance, Apex Venture Partners has expanded its lease at 225 W. Washington St. by 10,606 sf.

However, the Mechanical Contractors Association is moving from the Merchandise Mart to a 4,706-sf tower location at 221 N. LaSalle St. in a sublease deal that tenant representatives Equis Corp. says is $8 per sf below market rent, with sublessor Builders Bank abating six months of rent payments.

Julien J. Studley, Inc. corporate managing director Lisa Davidson and executive vice president Richard Schuham represented the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Genny Emerson handled negotiations for Lincoln Property Co. Julien J. Studley managing director Rich Dale and Lesley Hamre will oversee the build-out and relocation.

Equis senior vice president Kevin Duckler and associate Joseph Zona represented the Mechanical Contractors Association while associate vice president David Herbert represented Apex Venture Partners in negotiations with John Dempsey of CB Richard Ellis, who represented Lend Lease Real Estate Investment.
