PHILADELPHIA-Cincinnati-based Mendos Inc., an area real estate investor, has bought the 100,000-sf Northpointe Center shopping center for $2.28 million, or $22.80 per sf. The Center was built in 1977, and, according to a statement, Mendos plans “to significantly upgrade the property.”

The seller is L.J. Shapiro trustee. A Family Dollar store and NAPA Auto Parts anchor the center, which is located at the corner of Northland and Southland boulevards in Forest Park, a northern suburb of Cincinnati. It is described in the statement as “under-utilized;” however, the occupancy level was unavailable at press time.

Mark Richter, an investment and office specialist, and John Thompson, who specializes in retail sales and leases in the office of Everest Real Estate Group/TCN Worldwide, negotiated the transaction for Shapiro. Everest is the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky-area member of the TCN Worldwide consortium of 55 independent real estate firms operating in more than 210 markets around the world.
