ALEXANDRIA, VA-Alexandria Corporate Park has secured a new tenant as the General Services Administration, the government’s real estate arm, commits to 60,000 sf at the 280,000-sf structure on Bren Mar Drive. While the monetary terms of the GSA’s 10-year lease are not being disclosed, office space in the park typically goes for about $19.50-per-sf.

Located along the I-395 corridor, the approximately 50-year-old office/warehouse/flex property recently underwent a $4.5 million modernization. KasCon Inc. handled the construction on the renovation project, which was designed by Blackney Hayes Architects.

“The building is probably about 80% leased now,” Preferred Real Estate Investments Inc.’s Chris Smith tells GlobeSt.com. Preferred owns and operates the property. “We have leases completed with government contractor CACI, Icon Office Solutions and technology school Tess Technology.” The GSA leased the space to house the Federal Protective Service’s new Central Training Facility and its West Regional Office.
