NEW YORK CITY-The Feil Organization and its partner, Mall Properties, have acquired a major stake in the Herald Center, the recently renovated 250,000-sf retail property at Broadway and 34th Street. JEMB sold its controlling interest in the building but retains part ownership of the asset.

Feil will also take over management of the nine-story property, whose tenant roster includes Daffy’s, DMV, Payless Shoes, Modell’s and the recently signed Fleet Bank and Staples. Stores from 2,441 to 24,300 sf, including full floors, remain available. Terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.

Locally based Feil has interests in roughly 15 million sf of office, industrial and retail assets in seven states. With the acquisition of Herald Center, the firm operates 19 shopping centers.
