LONDON-Land Securities has sold the Burns Mall shopping centre in Kilmarnock, Scotland to Eagle Star. The exact sale price has not been disclosed, but Land Securities said a the sale price was significantly in excess of the £16.65 million ($26 million) quoting price.

The centre was constructed in 1976 and refurbished in 1991/1992. It is the only covered scheme in Kilmarnock and comprises 29 retail units, two stores and two floors of offices.Richard Akers, Head of Retail Portfolio Management at Land Securities, said: “This disposal is consistent with our strategy of focusing the portfolio on dominant retail locations.”

Land Securities was represented by Jones Lang LaSalle, and Conroy Laurie acted for Eagle Star.
