BALTIMORE, MD-Phillips Foods Inc. has completed the $20 million redevelopment of a former Coca-Cola syrup plant that will serve as the seafood restaurant and manufacturing company’s new corporate headquarters and manufacturing center. The modernized 270,000-sf facility in the Locust Point area replaces Phillips’ former 80,000-sf digs in West Baltimore, and allows the company to expand its production and storage capabilities.

“Our offices have moved but not production,” Phillips public relations manager Suzanne Serveiss tells GlobeSt.com. “Hopefully, we’ll have all that moved over here by the end of the year. That’s our goal.” Located at 1215 East Fort Avenue, the original building was constructed in 1939 on a 9.5-acre plot. Struever Bros., Eccles & Rouse oversaw redevelopment of the facility, which now boasts a state-of-the-art design courtesy of St. Onge, Ruff and Associates. Phillips’ move to the new space is part of the company’s 10-year growth plan.
