GRESHAM, OR-Four underdeveloped acres at the confluence of Stark and Burnside streets are slated for Rockwood Town Center, the key elements of which will be presented from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, in the Gresham City Hall Council Chambers.

The City of Gresham’s Scott Keillor tells GlobeSt.com the property is broken up into one larger ownership and several small ownerships. The property currently holds “a couple of small shops, a small hotel and a couple of offices,” says Keillor. One building, at 192nd and Stark, likely will be retained; he says, while the owners of the other buildings are interested in redevelopment.

Key elements of the proposed redevelopment plan include two-story office and commercial buildings, an anchor retail store. Parking would be behind the proposed buildings, which would front Stark and Burnside. The project also would be on the region’s light rail line.

Keillor says the city’s role is to assist the owners, using grants, in determining what kind of development would best fit the market. The conceptual was funded by the State of Oregon through its “Quick Response” Transportation and Growth Management Program. Crandall-Arambula, a Portland urban design firm, worked with the property owner, the city, and other stakeholders to develop the master plan, and will be on-hand at the presentation to discuss design features.
