Hospital's $15M Cancer Center Completed

GLEN BURNIE, MD-North Arundel Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Maryland Medical System, has completed the construction of its new Tate Cancer Center right on schedule. Hospital executives have planned the official debut of the $15-million comprehensive cancer center for late next week. The facility will be open for Anne Arundel County area patients’ use in January.

Located on the medical facility’s campus at 301 Hospital Dr., just outside of Annapolis, the new stand-alone outpatient cancer center consists of three floors with 44,000 sf of space for physicians’ offices and cancer treatment rooms for all of the hospital’s clinical areas. In addition to the basic amenities, the center also offers a healing garden, as well as an image-enhancement services space where patients can be fitted for prosthetics and learn about skin care and hair replacement methods. The structure offers room for future expansion up to 60,000 sf through the addition of more floors.
