Barnes & Noble to Open 25,000-SF Store

WORCESTER, MA-Barnes & Noble commits to opening a 25,000-sf store in the Lincoln Plaza Shopping Center on Tyler Prentice Road. The 450,000-sf 57-year-old center underwent a $50-million renovation nearly two years ago.

WORCESTER, MA-Barnes & Noble Inc. signed a lease agreement to open a Barnes & Nobles bookstore on Tyler Prentice Road between Route 70 and 290.

The terms of the lease agreement were not released. The 25,000-sf store will be located in the Lincoln Plaza shopping center, a 57-year-old development that was the city’s first shopping center. The 450,000-sf center was redeveloped nearly two years ago by Lincoln Plaza Group LLC for $50 million.

The store is scheduled to open this coming April and will stock close to 200,000 book, music, DVD and magazine titles and include a café. Mitchell Klipper, chief operating officer of the New York-based bookstore chain emphasizes that the company’s focus is on making the store an “integral part of the community.”

Barnes & Noble operating 620 bookstores in 49 states and also operates 281 B. Dalton Bookseller stores.
