NEW YORK CITY-Hudson Square, a submarket of the West Village, just got a new tenant that’s in it for the long haul. The US General Services Administration inked a 10-year lease for 33,420 sf at 395 Hudson St.

The US Census Bureau will fill the space, comprising the entire eight floor of this 10-story building. While terms of the deal have not been disclosed, a spokesperson for Cushman & Wakefield–which represented the building’s owner, the New York City District Council of Carpenters Pension Fund–tells GlobeSt.com that asking rents in the building are $37 per sf. Typical asking rents in the West Village run about $33.10 per sf, according to a C&W statement.

Located between West Houston and Clarkson streets, 395 Hudson was built in 1921 and encompasses 600,000 sf. Currently 14,000 sf of space is still unoccupied at the building.

C&W’s executive director Johnathan Serko, senior director Barry Zeller, associate director Andrew Greenberg, and director Brian Boehmcke represented the owner along with Joe Costabile of J.G. Costabile Real Estate. Henry Teitel of Synergy Realty repped the tenant.
