Auburn Mile Down to Last Two Outlots

AUBURN HILLS, MI-Two more retail additions have been added to the already-crowded Auburn Mile section, adjacent to Taubman’s Great Lakes Crossing mall. Ramco-Gershenson says it will build a 20,300-sf Staples office supply superstore and a 2,900-sf Arby’s restaurant.

Auburn Mile is a 650,000-sf shopping center fronting a one-mile stretch of the I-75 expressway in Metropolitan Detroit. Access to the center is provided by two full interchanges at Baldwin and Joslyn Roads. Auburn Mile is anchored by Target, Costco, Meijer, JoAnn etc and Best Buy.

“We are pleased that these two national tenants will be joining our Auburn Mile shopping center,” says Dennis Gershenson, president and chief executive officer in a statement. “With these uses in place the entire development is complete with the exception of two outlots, rounding out an impressive lineup of stores.”

Great Lakes Crossing opened in the fall of 1998, and sparked a massive swell of residential and commercial development in the surrounding area.
