Hidden Hills Golf Course Sold for $3.5M

JACKSONVILLE, FL-Lucas Fairways LLC of Jacksonville, FL paid Bank of America Inc. of Los Angeles $31,818 per acre or 73 cents per sf for the 38-year-old, 110-acre property redesigned by Arnold Palmer in 1986.

JACKSONVILLE, FL-Hidden Hills Golf Course, the 110-acre Jacksonville, FL green that has hosted professional players since 1965, is under new ownership today.

Lucas Fairways LLC of Jacksonville paid Bank of America Inc. of Los Angeles $3.5 million or $31,818 per acre (73 cents per sf) for the championship 18-hole property at 3901 Monument Road.

Roger Garrett of CB Richard Ellis Inc.’s Phoenix office, who brokered the deal, says Lucas bought the course as an investment. Orlando-based Arnold Palmer redesigned the course in 1986. Hidden Hills hosted the Greater Jacksonville Open from 1965 to 1974.

That tournament, won in different years by golfing notables such as Gary Player, Raymond Floyd, Don January and Hubert Green, was the forerunner of today’s Tournament Players Championship event held at Sawgrass, FL.
