NEW YORK CITY-PostWorks, New York, a digital post-production facility, signed a 10-year lease for 26,000 sf of space for its operations at Trinity Real Estate’s 100 Avenue of the Americas. Trinity’s director of commercial leasing, Jason Pizer, negotiated the transaction, while Barbara Craig and Neil Joffe of Newmark Real Estate represented PostWorks. An approximate lease price is $30-$35 per sf.

PostWorks, New York has grown over the past year, especially since its acquisition of SMA Video Services. Its new offices will comprise of 22,471 sf of space on the 11th floor and 3,509 sf on the 12th floor. The company is moving from two Flat Iron District addresses, 35 East 21st St and 27 West 20th St, where they leased approximately 5,000 sf in each site.

“This property met PostWorks criteria,” Craig tells GlobeSt.com. “They wanted nice light and views and to be near public transportation. And there are other post-production companies nearby.” She said the company searched for about a year before taking the Avenue of the Americas space and that they are looking to hire additional staff. Other tenants in the building include Jobson Publishing, Dow Jones/Telerate, Uniworld Group Inc., Mill Hollow Corp., AMS Neve, Estee Lauder, Bates Healthword, Inc. and DeVito/Verdi.

PostWork’s list of clients includes HBO, Viacom, VH-1, MTV, ABC News, National Geographic, directors Barry Sonnenfeld, Mike Nichols and Sydney Lumet, and the London-based editorial company Final Cut. With two separate, fully networked, post production facilities, the company boasts over 14,000 sf of non-linear off/on-line editing suites featuring Avid Symphony and Media Composer systems. Audio facilities feature DigiDesign’s Pro Tools. Over 45 mobile systems are available for on-site installations. The company is a development partner with Avid, as well as Wam!Net’s Video Delivery Service allowing creative teams to collaborate and share broadcast quality media in near real-time from anywhere in the world.

Trinity Real Estate, which has a history dating back to 1705, has more than six million sf currently under ownership.
