HOUSTON-An oilfield services firm is packing up and moving to an 8,750-sf industrial building that it bought for the corporate headquarters and operations base. The two-acre property is situated in in Houston’s northwest submarket.

Wildcat Services bought 12920 Cypress North Houston Rd. from Robert Scherer of Houston, a match brought together by David L. Carter in the Houston office of Yancey-Hausman. He says the property was never put on the market. Scherer, who acquired the site in 1997, used the building for his business, American Rodsmiths, which he’s moved to a nearby new structure.

Carter’s not talking about the selling price, but did say comparable properties bring about $65 per sf. Carter says the new owner, who is relocating from within the same submarket, isn’t planning any significant capital improvements to a six-year-old structure located near Jones Road in a heavy residential area of northwest Harris County.
