CHICAGO-The price for a 37,783-sf industrial building at 7522 S. Greenwood Ave. could be as low as $92,500, according to a city request for proposals. The building is on an 18,302-sf site that is zoned M1-2, but the city’s department of planning and development is open to proposals that include other uses besides industrial.

The current zoning allows for a redevelopment that could include 40,000 sf of space. However, the department will be looking at the number of new jobs that could come to the Greater Grand Crossing community, as well as the developer’s track record, financial ability and the price they are willing to pay.

The city acquired the property through a tax sale in 2001, when it got the property appraised for $92,500. Developers have an Oct.10 deadline to turn in their proposals.
