CHANDLER, AZ-At least 15 prospective buyers came in with offers, but it was the Corrola/Gomes Family Trust that walked off with the keys to a 40,000-sf Chandler shopping center after placing a $5.5-million bid that was just $100,000 below the seller’s asking price.

“We had between 15 and 20 offers. It was unbelievable,” Sanford Burstyn with Marcus & Millichap’s Phoenix office tells GlobeSt.com. “The seller was firm on price and that’s what it took” to make the sale.

For the money, the San Jose, CA-based trust got the 17-year-old Elliot Square, a retail plaza with two pad buildings at 1989 W. Elliot Rd. The center is anchored by a Family Dollar store with tenants that include Circle K and Filberto’s Mexican Restaurant. The property formerly was owned by Dan Adams and Greg Sizemore, both of Cornerstone Development in Laguna Niguel, CA. Burstyn represented the seller and Horacio Rodrigues of Re/Max represented the buyer in the transaction.
