FORT WORTH-The locally based Buxton Co. has named lead executives for two expanding divisions for its retail research niche.

Rich Hollander was made president of the CustomerID division, which focuses on providing major retail companies with research to identify, understand and match the customer base to store locations for expanding and new retailers. CustomerID also works as a blueprint for direct mailing operations. Hollander, with the Tandy Corp. for more than two decades, developed and ran its Incredible Universe group and later started and steered the Rent-A-Tire chain for Cash America.

David Rambie, a six-year employee of Buxton, is now president of the CommunityID division, a team with community economic development programs as its target market. Endorsed by the National League of Cities, the state-of-the-art research tool most often serves as the foundation for attracting retailers, restaurants and shopping centers. Rambie, previously with Xerox and First Data Corp., joined Buxton as its first sales and marketing person. He helped to launch the CommunityID division in 2002.

“Formally creating the new divisions brings total focus to these two distinctly different products and positions us for exceptional growth in the years ahead,” said Tom Buxton, president and CEO. The Fort Worth-headquartered company, founded in 1994, has a “Who’s Who” roster of national clients that includes Pier 1 Imports, Container Store, Microsoft, Pizza Hut, Kinko’s, Bass Pro Shops, Verizon and 7-Eleven. Cities tapping Buxton’s economic development services are the Texas communities of Conroe, Denton and McKinney; Broken Arrow, OK; Gary, IN; and Shoreline, WA.
