FORT COLLINS-The northern Colorado city of Fort Collins will receive $1.97 million in federal assistance from Department of Housing and Urban Development to stimulate the local economy, build affordable housing, help the homeless, and assist families and individuals with HIV/AIDS. HUD’s Regional Director John Carson says the funding signals HUD’s commitment to helping local communities design their own plan to help lower-income families.

“The funding…is an investment in Colorado and Fort Collin’s future–promoting economic development and job growth, increasing the supply of affordable housing and helping our most vulnerable neighbors,” says Carson. “These resources are evidence of HUD’s continuing commitment to provide communities with the resources they need to meet the particular needs of their residents.”

The funding includes $1.243 million in Community Development Block Grant funds and $726,510 in Home Investment Partnerships Program, or HOME funding.
