STAFFORD, TX-Kimco Realty Corp. has slid in the mop-up leasing team for the 585,901-sf Fountains on the Lake, which has less than 10% of the inline space to fill. A Weitzman Group executive says the new contract didn’t come to market, but was won through a longstanding relationship with the New Hyde Park, NY-based REIT.

David Stukalin, Weitzman’s president in Houston, and Jennifer Fredette, an associate, have taken over the assignment from Houston’s Boyd Page/ChainLinks, which did not return telephone calls by press time for comment on the change.

The power center is located along Southwest Freeway in Stafford, southwest of Houston, and a three-mile trade area with 95,614 residents and an average annual household income of $80,111. Stukalin tells that the assignment was mortared by a longstanding relationship with Kimco. The task at hand, he says, is to take leasing through the home stretch.

The center’s roster includes Saks Off 5th, Bed Bath & Beyond, Oshman’s Sporting Goods, Borders Books & Music, SteinMart, Hobby Lobby, Old Navy, OfficeMax and Loew’s Theatres. Space is quoted at $20 per sf triple net.

Kimco bought the Fountains on the Lake about a year ago. Its in-house team will continue on the management side.
