BIRMINGHAM, MI-The Big Rock Chop House here will be getting a a $5.5-million, 6,800-sf expansion when the popular restaurant builds a 300-seat banquet hall next to it.

The restaurant and new hall are on Eton Street, just south of Maple Road, in an area known as the Rail District. At one time, the area was a hub of interurban train activity.

DJ Maltese Construction will serve as the contractor for the project, which was designed by the architectural firm of Roger Sherman Partners of Dearborn.
