ATLANTA-John J. Mack, co-CEO of Credit Suisse Group and CEO of Credit Suisse First Boston, is the newest director on Cousins Properties Inc.’s expanded 10-member board. Mack was a Cousins director from May 2001 to May 2003.

“Corporate leaders like John are quite rare and Cousins is lucky to have his experience and insight on our board,” says Cousins president and CEO Tom Bell. “As the company continues to position itself for its next phase of growth, John will be an invaluable resource for the board and for me personally.”

Mack serves in a number of leadership positions for business, civic and philanthropic organizations. He chairs the board of trustees of New York-Presbyterian Hospital, the University Hospital of both Columbia and Cornell, and is a member of the board of trustees of Duke University.

He also serves on the board at Catalyst Inc., Celiant Corp. and the New York Stock Exchange. He is a trustee of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and is on the International Advisory Panel for the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Mack is also vice chairman of NYC2012, the committee leading New York’s bid for the 2012 Olympic Games.

A graduate of Duke University, Mack joined Morgan Stanley in May 1972 as a member of its bond department and became a Morgan Stanley director in March 1987. He took over Morgan Stanley’s day-to-day operations in March 1992 as chairman of the operating committee and was named president in June 1993.

Mack served as president, chief operating officer and a director of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co. from May 1997 until March 2001. He joined Credit Suisse First Boston as CEO in July 2001 and was named co-CEO of Credit Suisse Group in January of this year.
