WOODSTOCK, IL-North Shore Development Co. has purchased a 43-acre site at Castle Road and Cobblestone Way, where it plans to build a 275-unit multifamily rental project, for $2.5 million. North Shore Development’s plans call for the project to be built in two phases after buying the land from Los Angeles-based KB Homes.

“A new retail center is planned to the north as well as a new single-family development to the south,” says Inland Real Estate Sales SVP Charles Hold.

Woodstock, used as a backdrop in the film “Groundhog Day,” is the McHenry County seat. McHenry County has been among the fastest-growing counties in the US.

Hold and senior sales associate Scott Schiave of the Oak Brook-based company co-brokered the sale of the land, located in this far northwest suburb, an hour’s drive from Chicago.
