PHOENIX-Stone Net Inc. has moved its Valley manufacturing and distribution operations to a 35,555-sf building in the Airport submarket. The Houston-based stone manufacturer and distributor purchased the 1970s-era building for $1.8 million from Wedel Arizona LLC, a Tempe-based investor.

“Stone Net needed a bigger building,” says Pat Harlan, an associate director with Cushman & Wakefield of Arizona Inc. He, Steve Sayre and Lindsay Erickson, also with C&W, represented the buy side for the 2635 S. 24th St. property. Matt Hobaica and Nate Babeck with Lee & Associates Arizona represented the seller.

Harlan tells GlobeSt.com that the Valley’s residential growth has been a boon for Stone Net, which is experiencing significant growth due to homebuilders’ demand for stone. Stone Net previously operated out of a 7,500-sf building at 3814 S. 16th St., just a couple miles from the relocation site. Harlan is marketing the 16th Street building.

According to Harlan, the 2635 S. 24th St. building was one of the few options on the market that met Stone Net’s parking and power requirements. After looking for six months, Stone Net is ensconced in a building with redundant power and more than 60 parking spaces. The building, situated on 3.43 acres, boasts an adjacent lot for extra parking and storage.
