STAMFORD, CT-Benenson Asset Management Inc. of New York City has retained Cushman & Wakefield as exclusive leasing agent for its Park Place office building at 1600 Summer St. here. The 270,000-sf property is currently fully occupied by General Electric Consumer Finance. However, by early next year the firm will be vacating the six-story building and relocating operations to another Stamford property, 777 Long Ridge Rd.

Benenson originally developed Park Place in 1980 as a multi-tenant office building, however, GE has been the sole occupant since the 1990s, according to Cushman & Wakefield officials. Fred A. Smith, executive director, and Darilynne O. Saunders, associate director, of Cushman & Wakefield of New York, along with Trip Hoffman, director, and Jodie Dostal, associate director of Cushman & Wakefield of Connecticut, serve as the leasing team.

The recently launched marketing effort is geared to bringing back the property to its original intended use as a multi-tenant office building. “We are marketing Park Place to appeal to a broad range of users,” Smith says. “There are exceptional lease opportunities for tenants small and large with prime office space immediately available for lease at aggressive, below market rental rates.”

Hoffman adds, “We anticipate attracting interest from tenants in Fairfield County as well as throughout the New York metropolitan area. One of most compelling things about Park Place as a multi-tenant office property is that the blocks of space will subdivide nicely with ample window lines.” In fact, he adds that there are several lease proposals pending. The firm hopes to announce the first tenant within the next 60 to 90 days.
