LAKEWOOD, CO-Belmar, which opened a little more than a year ago at Wadsworth Boulevard and Alameda Avenue, landed the metro area’s second Lucky Strike Bowling Alley, as well as a slew of other tenants. The first Lucky Strike opened on the third floor of the Denver Pavilions in downtown Denver.

In addition to the new bowling alley, Belmar, developed by Denver-based Continuum Lakewood Development, will add four new restaurants, three new stores, two beauty salons by the end of 2005. By year-end, Belmar will have 16 restaurants and cafes, 49 stores and three services. Some of the restaurants and shops are one-of-a-kind. Lucky Strike will be one of the anchor tenants and will open this summer. It features 16 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, a 60-foot bar and what it calls a “hip American” menu. Another anchor tenant is Whole Foods Market, which will open a 58,000-sf store this winter. Caché, Zales Jewelry and the Metropolitan Museum of Artrecently opened.

New restaurants opening this year include: Tacone, a quick-service restaurant that serves gourmet wraps; Baker Street Pub, which serves American and British fare, and features live entertainment and draught and bottle beer; Home Restaurant featuring comfort food in an upscale environment; and Chef and restaurateur Mark Tarbell opened his first restaurant, The Oven, at Belmar earlier this year. Emogene Café, located on the Plaza at Belmar, is the second store for a new concept by local commercial real estate developer and entrepreneur, Jim Sullivan. He will be serving distinctive European-style pasty in that will be paired with wine, cordials and specialty coffee drinks.

New stores at Belmar include: Santa Fe North, which sells contemporary Southwestern apparel; Kamala, which sells jewelry, bags, scarves and other gifts; Select Comfort, which sells mattresses; and beauty salons Shear Production and Vito Pini Salons.
