SIMI VALLEY, CA-One of this area’s newest and largest apartment developments is on the board in the form of a 500-unit complex to be built by the San Diego office of Irving, TX-based JPI, a specialist in luxury apartments. The new JPI complex will be called Jefferson at Simi Valley and will be developed at a site north of Jefferson Way, overlooking Simi Valley Town Center.JPI has just begun work on the project, which is being built along Highway 118 between First Street and Erringer Road and will be within walking distance of the adjacent entertainment, shopping and dining located within Simi Valley Town Center. The new apartment complex will be part of a 129-acre master plan that includes more than 120 retail stores, restaurants and entertainment venues. Besides its 500 units, the project will include a fitness center, a theater room, two pools and spas, 282 private garages and additional amenities. The architects on the development are Architects Orange and the complex is being built by JPI JPI California Construction Services LP.Stephen Dominiak, SVP and regional managing partner for JPI, says the company expects to have the project ready to open in April of 2006. Simi Valley Town Center and surrounding retail are scheduled to open Thursday, Oct. 27. JPI was founded in 1989 and is one of the nation’s largest luxury apartment companies. Its activities include acquisition, development, construction, property and asset management services for multifamily and student living properties. The overall master plan has been developed by The Corti Gilchrist Partnership LLC, The Finley Group and Forest City California. Retail lease transactions for the regional mall are being handled jointly by The Corti Gilchrist Partnership and Forest City; leasing for the Town and Country portion is being handled by Colliers Seeley International.
