Famous Dave's Expands

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN-Hoosier Ribs LLC, has purchased the franchise rights to open six Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que restaurants in Indiana. The cities covered by the development agreement include Anderson, Bloomington, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Lafayette/West Lafayette, Muncie and Terre Haute. The two current Famous Dave’s restaurants in Indiana are located in Mishawaka and Clarksville.

Hoosier Ribs is owned by Sunil Puri, Dave Henson, Tom Ketelsen and Fred White, and is based in Rockford, IL. The group collectively owns and operates Famous Dave’s restaurants in Davenport, IA, and Rockford. The new Famous Dave’s are expected to open over the next six years, says David Goronkin, president and chief executive officer of Famous Dave’s of America based in Eden Prairie, MN, a southwest Twin-Cities suburb.

Goronkin also says Famous Dave’s previously announced agreement with New England Barbecue Ventures LLC for nine new restaurants in the Northeastern US has been amended to 10 restaurants and now includes Rhode Island in the development territory. Famous Dave’s of America owns 38 locations and franchises 80 in 29 states and has signed development agreements for 172 additional franchised locations throughout the US.
