LOVELAND, CO-Heska Corp., a publicly traded veterinary products company, recently moved into its 60,000-sf corporate headquarters building at 3760 Rocky Mountain Ave. at Centerra in this northern Colorado city. About 150 employees have moved into the new building, which was developed by McWhinney Enterprises.

The building features a contemporary interior specifically designed for Heska’s needs, including an employee lounge, seminar rooms, conference rooms, open offices, internal hard-walled offices and a warehouse area. The building was planned around west-facing views, including a second-floor exterior deck with mountain views. Employees have an outdoor sitting area and a play area for pets. The facility’s electrical and HVAC systems have capacity for lab, research, office and warehouse uses, and the exterior has significant landscaping and site screening. Heska’s headquarters have expansion capabilities to 80,000 sf.

McWhinney and Heska broke ground on the new facility in the summer of 2004. Heska has now consolidated all operations in Northern Colorado into this facility and has fulfilled all rent obligations under its former lease. Heska wanted to consolidate its operations from four separate buildings into a single, more efficient facility that included both offices and lab space. Heska approached McWhinney in late 2003 about building in McWhinney’s office park, Centerra. Centerra is McWhinney’s 3,200-acre mixed-use master-planned community along Interstate 25 between US 34 and Crossroads Boulevard.

McWhinney has been wonderful to work with, says Jason Napolitano, Heska’s chief financial officer. Chad McWhinney, principal and CEO of McWhinney Enterprises, says that he has been following Heska’s growth and is pleased to be able to help them with its real estate needs.

Saunders Construction was the contractor. RNL Design was the architect.
