Tavern At Lowry Breaks Ground

DENVER-Construction recently started on the 12,600-sf Tavern at Lowry, the third Denver restaurant/bar developed by its three owners. Frank Schultz and Terry and Al Papy, who also own two other restaurant/bars in Denver, the Soiled Dove and the Uptown Tavern, own the tavern.

The tavern, which opens next spring, will have 6,000 sf upstairs and 6,600 sf in the downstairs area. It will seat a total of 430: 100 upstairs in the bar/restaurant, 80 on the patio and 250 in the downstairs event area, where they will schedule live music.

“Frank Schultz was very professional in the way he went about this,” Hillarie Portell, spokeswoman for the Lowry Redevelopment Authority, tells GlobeSt.com. “He held focus groups with neighbors in Lowry to see exactly what kind of food and drinks and entertainment they would like.”

“We spent a lot of time talking with Lowry residents,” Schultz admits, “and we’re tailoring the Tavern at Lowry more to the needs of this particular neighborhood.” When complete, the 6,000-sf tavern upstairs will have oversized booths and fireplaces. The patio area will incorporate outdoor seating with a fire pit, waterfall and stream–features frequently now found in new, large suburban homes.
