BOSTON-Spencer Stuart, a global executive search firm, has laid claimto the entire eighth floor of the Financial District’s 21 Custom House under a seven-year lease. The arrangement will nearly double the size of the privately held company when it moves into the building later this month.

“21 Custom House is an excellent boutique building for Spencer Stuart,” Christopher Cuddy, with CB Richard Ellis/New England, tells GlobeSt.com. He says the firm, which was operating in 5,800 sf at 24 Federal St., was looking to expand when it found 10,000 sf of class A office space at 21 Custom House that allowed the company to move its expanded operation into a single floor.

Details of the lease were not released, but Cuddy says the office building, which is more than 95% leased to a number of law firms and financial institutions, generally rents for about $34 per sf.

Cuddy handled the transaction for the tenant while David Martel, with Cushman & Wakefield’s Boston office represented the landlord, AMAN, Inc.
